Program Description: Media Relations for Small Business Owners/Media Training

Communicating with the media requires an entirely different set of skills than normal business communications. In this session, I will cover the basics to boost your confidence in working with TV, print, radio and online media. This is a perfect introduction for beginners and those with some media experience.

Topics will include:
    •    Understanding how the media works

    •    Defining your audience
    •    Creating the right hook and pitch
    •    Developing key messages and memorable sound bites
    •    Delivering a dynamic interview
    •    Dressing for success
    •    Crafting your media talking notes // script
    •    Dealing with tough questions and negative reporters

About Our Speaker
Andrea Holland Rizk is the owner and CEO of Rizk Public Relations. With over two decades of public relations experience, Andrea knows the ins and outs of the PR world. Having launched her career as a publicist on Nashville's famous Music Row, Andrea has found her sweet spot, taking small businesses to the next level and working to develop entrepreneurs as experts in their specific fields of industry.

Over the last year, Andrea's clients have found themselves on Fox News, CNN, CMT, CBS, and The Today Show, and in the pages of Bloomberg Business, Rolling Stone, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and The Washington Post, just to name a few.

Andrea graduated with a BA in English from Middle Tennessee State University and is currently consulting with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in addition to her work with financial expert and author Wes Moss and financial technology company Benjamin.
