Program Description:

How Being Messy Can be a Good Thing

The value of messiness will be explored at our March NAPO meeting. Book Reviews of A Perfect Mess: The Hidden Benefits of Disorder, by Eric Abrahamson and David Freedman and Messy: How To be Creative and Resilient in a Tidy-Minded World by Tim Hartford, will give structure to a discussion about the upside of messiness. From comparing our scores on the Clutter-Image Rating Scale to sharing our favorite stories of good outcomes amid messiness, we will explore messiness within homes, organizations, leadership, and thought. Additionally, we will analyze Ms. Cheap’s messy desk and office space.

About the Presenter:

Susan Gardner, MDiv and CPO-CD, grew up messy and worked at a semi-maintained messy desk throughout her 30-year career as a United Methodist pastor. Susan works primarily with messy people and has a high tolerance for a messy environment, though no longer her own. In recent years, she has become increasingly neat and values the orderly in herself more and more.

Hope to see you there!

Our new meeting location is at Baymont Inn & Suites, (111 Penn Warren Dr, Brentwood, TN 37027). Meetings will take place from 9am-11am.

Everyone is welcome. Visitors who have visited more than once will need to pay a visitor fee or purchase a 3 meeting visitor pass.
