			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hello NAPO Nashville members &#038; guests!  I am super excited about our July virtual meeting on Thursday, July 8th from 9-10:30 Central.  YES, VIRTUAL!  This means you can stay in your jammies and call in to learn about, wait for it&#8230;VIRTUAL ORGANIZING!  I know, you&#8217;re thinking, what the heck is Virtual Organizing?  Here&#8217;s your chance to find out from Virtual (and real life) Organizer, Heather Burke of Smart Spaces, from Ontario, Canada.  </p>
<p>Heather Burke, founded Smart Space Organizing Inc. in 1999. She is a Silver Leaf Member and a Trained Professional Organizer with the Professional Organizers in Canada (POC). She is also a Golden Circle member with National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Heather has earned her Chronic Disorganization (CD) Specialist and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) Specialist designations through the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD). She works with both residential and business clients in addition to being a speaker, author and organizing expert in the local media. Heather serves as a regional ambassador for NSGCD. Heather and her team specialize in working with square pegs and round holes, or where traditional organizing methods do not work.  Heather and her husband of over 30 years have moved to right size (downsize) their lives and enjoy family time.</p>
<p>In order to get a count, and deliver the handout and call in information, we need you to register.  This is a free teleseminar (a benefit of being a member), with our regular guest fee of $15 for non-members. </p>
<p>A note to CPO&#8217;s and anyone needing CEU&#8217;s:  This class will (or should) count as a CEU for NAPO National and the BCPO as it will be 1 hour and be direct organizing training. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A huge round of applause goes to the Nashville Chapter of NAPO! Project Managers Lisa York, CPO®, Cindy Sullivan, CPO®, and Liz Jenkins, along with Chapter Members Paige McClain-Ramsey, Samantha Pointer, Becky Taylor and Mandy Raff came together as an outstanding team to organize the Weaver Domestic Violence Center. Having NAPO Nashville lend its expertise while guiding the wonderful volunteers from Nashville Works made this a truly amazing event in which to be a part. </p>
<p>Abigail Sasser of the YWCA rounded up the Nashville volunteers making the event a success.  We could not have done it without them.  I am so impressed with our group of Organizers and the volunteers in this area as they are truly committed to their profession and to the community. </p>
<p>The local NAPO chapter organized the Basement, Toy Closet and School Supply Closet (see pictures) in 6 hours with an average of 20 volunteers, including the Professional Organizers.  All totaled that comes to about 120 man hours of volunteered time.  </p>
<p>Tami Walker, Director of the center, said, “The building looks amazing!  Thank you and your team so much for your hard work and fantastic skills! “</p>
<p>A huge thank you also goes out to Hayden Cross and her team from College Hunks that Haul Junk, <span class="mh-plaintext">hayd<a href='http://mailhide.recaptcha.net/d?k=01S3Ekx_GU2QNhlRVvbucT-w==&amp;c=I7qlWUewWTc7n_Rs8lJny66FDA3Qfk3GfdVhVwj1XaE=' onclick="window.open('http://mailhide.recaptcha.net/d?k=01S3Ekx_GU2QNhlRVvbucT-w==&amp;c=I7qlWUewWTc7n_Rs8lJny66FDA3Qfk3GfdVhVwj1XaE=', '', 'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=500,height=300'); return false;" title="Reveal this e-mail address">...</a>@1800junkusa.com</span>.  Hayden did not hesitate to help us succeed in this endeavor.  She delivered her crew and truck to haul off donation items and trash, to carry items out and to lend support where ever it was needed.  They were an integral part of the success of this project.  </p>
<p>We also send a thank you to Lowe’s in Cool Springs and Spring Hill, as well as Kroger for donating supplies to the project. Having the right supplies made the project  much easier.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our meeting this Thursday, the 13th at 9AM will be held at the Starbucks INSIDE Target on Charlotte Pike (6814 Charlotte Pike) in Nashville/Bellevue area.  Sherry is the name of the gal who will be there and she is expecting us.  This location was chosen to give us not only a place to leave our vehicles while we carpool over to the work site after the meeting, but it’s proximity to the work site location with the added benefit of coffee!</p>
<p>Our meeting topic this month will be a recap of the NAPO National conference with highlights of what we learned (a good sized group of us attended) and choosing which CD’s we’d like to purchase as a chapter for those who were unable to attend to have available to listen to at your convenience. </p>
<p>Everyone is welcome at this meeting, as well as to assist in the planning at the YWCA afterward. </p>

Our meeting is going to be hosted by our speakers, Cindy Martin and John Wade, at their office located at 3000 Meridian Blvd., Ste 180 in Franklin.  Our topic this month is “Organizing Financial Documents:  What You Need To Know”.  Cindy &#038; John are with Wunderlich Securities.  Our goal for this meeting is to gain an understanding of what to look for when working with client’s papers, specifically with their financial documents.  Often our clients have questions about what to keep, what’s important and how to categorize these documents.  Cindy &#038; John will answer those questions and more at our next meeting. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Calling all Middle Tennesseans! Nashville&#8217;s Shred Day will be held on April 10th, 2010 from 10am to 1pm in the LP Field parking lots. More information taken from the press release below:</p>
<p>&#8220;Nashville Crime Stoppers and the Nashville Police Department will be holding the city’s first-ever Community Shred Day. It is a project designed to help prevent families and businesses from becoming the victims of identity theft, while, at the same time, ensuring the viability of the Crime Stoppers program.</p>
<p>Shred Day is set for Saturday, April 10th, at LP Field. From 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Middle Tennesseans are welcome to bring all of their sensitive documents they no longer want or need to the stadium’s main parking lot, where the paper will be destroyed on the spot by machinery provided by Shred-it, a Securit Company, the world’s leading on-site document destruction entity. The only cost is a $5 tax deductible donation to Crime Stoppers per banker box of records. All proceeds will go to Crime Stoppers’ reward fund, which is used to solve serious felony crimes in the Nashville community.&#8221;</p>
